Cloud Security Architect

Role Overview

As a Cloud Security Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive security architectures for cloud-based systems and applications. This role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms, security frameworks, and the ability to balance security requirements with business objectives and operational efficiency.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure security is built into cloud solutions from the ground up, not bolted on as an afterthought. This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of cloud security in a rapidly growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform environments.

• Develop cloud security standards, policies, and best practices to ensure consistent security implementation across all cloud deployments.

• Conduct security reviews of cloud infrastructure designs and provide recommendations for security improvements and risk mitigation.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security practices using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates.

• Design and implement cloud-native security controls including identity and access management, encryption, and network segmentation.

• Lead incident response efforts for cloud security events and conduct post-incident analysis to improve security measures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, plus 7+ years of experience in cloud computing and security.

• Expert-level knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security services and best practices.

• Strong experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and container security practices and tools.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools and DevSecOps practices for secure software delivery pipelines.

• Advanced cloud security certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer.

• Experience with cloud security posture management (CSPM) and cloud workload protection platform (CWPP) solutions.
